Project and effect
- Short description
- The work of the Brazil Nut Rainforest Community climate protection project aims to protect the valuable primary rain forest, which is home to numerous rare, endangered plants and animals and provides them with a habitat. Thanks to its activities the project grants about 400 families long-term income opportunities with the traditional harvesting of Brazil nuts. The local population is very involved in the project and also receives training e.g. in sustainable harvesting techniques.

Legal classification
What EmpCo permits
Investments in environmental initiatives may be communicated factually. A project contribution does not have to be certificate-based.
The important limit
No neutral, reduced or positive climate effect of a product may be derived from the project support.
